At first glance, a small vermillion stone with creamy-cloudy red bands sits quiet and unassuming in its silver setting.
But turn it just so in the light, and a mystic blue-green flash lights up from beneath the ruddy clouds, announcing this stone's dual nature.
A form of labradorite sometimes referred to as andesine, this is not only a gem of varied appearance, it also skirts conventional description. Not all red labradorites are andesine, and not all andesines exhibit the coveted flash.
This is a ring for those who are comfortable with contradiction; who don't mind being two (or more) things at once; or who are aware that their brilliant lightning flash is often obscured from the casual gaze, only visible to those who take the time to see them in the right light.
Sterling silver setting with signature 12HV moon-cratered band.
